Church of the Highlands-SERVE DAY

exploring one of the fire trucks

Our church holds an annual SERVE day every year in July.  We got to take part in it this year and had a blast serving our community.  The kids really got to get involved and that made me smile more than anything.  It's an awesome thing to see kids giving to those who serve us everyday in the community of Auburn/Opelika.  We are so very blessed to be part of a church that loves people and knows the importance of showing that love with those around us.  I love that one day out of the year 1,000s of people in Alabama are giving back and showing Christ's love to the state.  It's true that when you bless others, you are blessed in return!

Our group went to the Opelika firehouse in downtown Opelika.  We washed some fire trucks and then served them lunch.  I think they enjoyed watching the kids have fun.  I know Mark had a blast :)
