Mark's 2 year pics

I still can't believe my little boy is 2 years old! He's talking all the time these days and seems to learn so much in a week. He is already "saying" his ABC's, which actually aren't that hard to make out. He's still not using the potty that much but he does at least sit on it every night. I'm just hoping he actually pees in it someday soon. I really don't know what I'm doing. Anyone have any advice?? He's an active, curious toddler who loves his little world.

Last week he had his first case of hand, foot, and mouth. It was probably the worse he's ever been with sickness. I hope he never gets it again. He was so irritable which made it so hard for me to understand what was going on with him, so I got frustrated. He didn't want to eat much, but he did have a lot of Capri-suns and popsicles! He also got to stay home with Daddy for the last half of the week. He still has a cold which is also caused by the virus that causes HF&M. And then Monday morning his ear started draining really bad. It seems to the time of year for him to be sick. He was sick last Easter too, but at least he's been feeling better the past few days. He will be good as new (hopefully) by Saturday and Sunday. We have 2 days of Easter fun ahead of us. I'm really looking forward to it :)

These are a couple of pics from his 2 year photo session. They turned out great. He got off to a bad start, but we got them done. He was starting to get sick the day we went, so it makes sense now, although picture taking gets harder and harder every time we go.

Mark at 18 months

These are some of Mark's 18 month studio pictures. Better late than never, huh? He has changed so much since these were taken, including his hair. I'm getting the cd of his 2 year old pictures next week. I'll be posting those as soon as I can. Hope you enjoy :)

New Recipes!

Hey everyone out there! It's Monday...I hate Mondays! Who else is ready for the weekend? I am as soon as they are over! I need some new recipes, esp. for the warmer months ahead. If you have one you can't live without or one that is pretty easy, or you just like to eat, please send it my way :)
I would love to try it! Thanks. Stay tuned for Mark's birthday post. That's on my to-do list for the week! Have a good one!

Q&A #2

How did I become an Auburn fan?

Well I don't think there is a point that I said I think I'm going to be an Auburn fan. It was just something that just kind of happened. I grew-up around Alabama fans, even wore Alabama attire at one point because of my Dad. He actually has a photo to document and torments me with it. Not really, but he does mention it every now and then. So for me to be an Auburn fan is out of the ordinary for my family. I didn't really care about football until I got into high school. I dated a few guys during this time that were Auburn fans, and I went to some games with them. It's somewhat magical to see the traditions that take place during these football Saturdays that you just fall in love with, and I did! I started going to War Eagle days and E-days because I was interested in going to school at Auburn, and I got out of school for those days. :) I applied at Auburn and the rest is history. I didn't understand the Auburn spirit until I actually experienced it and my college days were some of the best of my life. I am blessed to still be in Auburn working and soon living there again with my little family. It's something you don't understand until you have experienced it; the campus, the football games, and the Auburn family. Plus how could you not fall in love with this...

Q&A #1

My first question from my question and answer post is "What is your favorite recipe to cook?".
Well I'm really not much of a cook...I'm much better than I used to be, but it's just not something that I LOVE to do. Lately though my favorite thing to cook is Taco Soup. It's super easy and well, it's perfect for me or anyone else who's not a fan of slaving away for hours in the kitchen. I commend those who do, but that's not me :) Since it's been cold I have loved making this for dinner and then taking the leftovers to work for lunch. It's so yummy! I'll have to find something new to cook for the Spring and Summer months when I'm craving something not so hot. You should definitely try it before it gets too hot to enjoy it. I don't think you will be disappointed! Let me know how you like it!

Taco soup

Need:
1lb of ground beef
ranch dressing packet
taco seasoning packet
16 oz. can of corn
16 oz. can of pinto beans
16 oz. can of chili beans
16 oz. can of stewed tomatoes
16 oz. can of rotel (tomatoes and green chiles)
onion
*Last time I made this I added black beans and I really liked it.

Brown the beef and onion together. Drain and rinse. Mix with seasoning packets and then combine all ingredients in a large pot. Simmer on low heat for 1 hour.
Enjoy! I like mine with saltines and shredded cheese, but it's great by itself too!

Keep the questions coming...it's fun :)

question and answer!

So I've seen this done on a blog or two so I decided to steal the idea and do it on my blog as well. It's a question and answer session...So send me some questions about anything you want to know about me and I'll post the answers. I love getting new ideas of things to post about. I know people probably get tired of seeing my little boy all the time, but I just can't help myself :). I'm a proud Mommy! I'll post back the answers as soon as I can. Now get busy! Happy Wednesday...the weekend is so close!!

Snow day in February 2010

On February 12, 2010 most of the southeast experienced some snow and we had so much fun with it! Mark kept calling it rain and I kept saying "No baby it's snow". He would then proceed to call it 'now all day long :) Mark wanted to be outside all day, but after about 30 minutes of being cold and wet we went inside, and he watched from the front window :) These are a few of my favorite shots from that day (I took A LOT more).

My own little car!

These are a few pictures of Mark playing with one of his Christmas gifts one Sunday afternoon. He hasn't quite gotten the hang of moving it with his little feet yet, but he loves to be pushed around in it :) He's growing at warp speed it seems, and I'm just trying to keep up! I used to be so much better at keeping up with every little thing he has done or accomplished each month. At least I still get the pictures although I'm so slow at sharing them with everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Our weekend was extremely busy with party after party, but we are very blessed to have amazing friends and family to share special occasions with, so no complaints here. I just wish I could have gotten some more sleep... Mark's 2nd birthday pictures coming soon, hopefully! :) Happy Monday!

whew!

Just a few pictures from January...yeah it's been a while!

I haven't written anything in a while so I thought I would catch up on all that has been going on with us. February came and went like a flash. I have not posted anything about the infamous snow day of 2010 yet. I got some precious pictures of Mark playing in the snow. He loved every minute of it. He just kept saying "it's 'nowing". I had a lot of fun watching him in it. Pictures coming soon. I'm at work right now, so I'll have to do that at home. Who knows when I'll get to that this weekend though...
I'll be playing "catch-up" for a while, so bear with me :)
My little boy is now 2 years old and not quite so little... March 4th was probably the best day of my life or at least top 5. I have loved every second of being a Mommy and every stage has been so much fun. I'm hoping to have a wonderful year #2 :) Potty training is ahead and coming pretty quickly. I think he is about ready, although I think he is afraid of the potty. I believe he's getting a potty seat at his party tomorrow, so hopefully that will ease his fears. I'm hoping it will make him feel like a big boy!
Like I said this weekend will be insanely busy with a friend's birthday party tonight, Mark's tomorrow, and my birthday dinner tomorrow night, but I will post pictures when I can breathe again :) I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend. I know I will! That's all for now :)
